Our Story
Born and raised in San Francisco, Jamal and Brianne grew up only 2.3 miles away from each other — Jamal in Diamond Heights and Brianne in Twin Peaks. Just 4 years apart in age, Jamal attended Saint Paul’s and Archbishop Riordan High School and Brianne attended Saint Cecilia’s and Saint Ignatius College Preparatory. Their mothers, Charlene and Annie worked their entire careers at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. Jamal’s brother, Steve Bluford was one of Brianne’s teachers in high school. Jamal coached basketball players and teams that played against Brianne‘s sister, Nicole. Jamal left San Francisco to attend San Diego State University, and when he returned, he worked at Macy’s in San Mateo while Brianne responded to 911 calls as a paramedic in San Mateo County. Their paths didn’t cross until January 29, 2015, and the connection was instant and unwavering. They moved into a beautiful South San Francisco home together October 1, 2019 and happily sheltered in place, literally. On July 4, 2022, Jamal got down on one knee and asked Brianne to be his wife. It feels only fit that they profess their wedding vows to each other on April 15, 2023, in the City they adore, surrounded by the people they love.
